“ This is a solid Italian seafood oriented restaurant in Edison right over the border from Metuchen . I went for lunch with a group of five.It's BYOB and we brought wine. I had Sicilian style swordfish ( pesce spada) and a grilled octopus salad for an appetizer. It was all good. Service was polite and efficient. The atmosphere is calm and pleasant. I wouldn't say it's cheap but it's not super expensive.Everyone seemed pleased! ”

“ We've been going to Louca's for 25+ years. Many birthdays, anniversaries, gatherings with friends and New Year's celebrations. It amazes us that the prices have always been reasonable while maintaining the high quality of service, ambience and food. Last night was no exception. We shared the calamari special with mango sauce, beet and Greek salads and shrimp bisque. All way above average. The Berkshire double pork chop my wife ordered will feed her for 2 more meals, while my seafood capellini entree was stuffed with clams, shrimp and mussels. It was my birthday so I finished with a delicious chocolate mousse cake and a double espresso. On top of all this it's a BYOB. As long as they exist we'll keep coming back ”

“ This is an excellent, elegant restaurant with delicious Italian food, a professional wait staff and a pretty and calm setting. Elegant and old school. We met our friends from Metuchen here at their recommendation, and they advised they have been coming here for thirty years. I can see why. Service was prompt and efficient, and the menu is varied, although the specialty is seafood. Everyone's dish was perfect: clams casino, octopus salad, Ceasar salad, crispy bread with fresh creamery butter, Sicilian swordfish, lobster ravioli, seafood fra diablo, veal Milanese, and eggplant rollatini. Everything was excellent! Then we capped it off with cappuccinos and delicious house made carrot cake. I will definitely return! And it is BYOB, making it all even better! ”

“ I have been coming here with my family for years. I typically try something new every time I come here and I'm usually not disappointed. The one dish I will probably not get again is the calamari as I found out a bit rubbery. Everything else was very good and our server was super helpful when we were placing orders. This is a classic New Jersey Italian restaurant and as such it is BYOB so don't forget to bring your wine. ”

“ Came here on a friday night for date night. We had a 8pm reservations but was running a bit late. The place was packed. We were seated within 5 min. My partnered ordered the rock shrimp appetizer which he said was good. I ordered the penne vodka with chicken which was also good. He had shrimp and pasta for his entree. This place is BYOB. All in all, this is a good place that I will come back to. ”

“ Love that this restaurant is BYOB. The staff is extremely friendly. Incredibly packed for a Saturday and heard that you have to make reservations in order to get seating. They have a long list of specials on top of their regular menu. The SO and I ordered a rib eye and seafood fra diavlo. For appetizer we had a mango calamari which was delicious. The rib eye was a little tough in certain areas. The seafood fra diavlo was good but not the best I've had. Overall , I would come back and dine. This is a really cozy Italian restaurant. ”

“ The food was exceptional and flavorful! Service was great no complaints. Ambiance was good, cozy, intimate, but a little worn. One small point is that the glasses the first time round weren't all clean and they had to bring us fresh ones. ”

“ Great experience with LouCas. The waitress was attentive and the food was awesome. The quantity of food was way beyond my expectation. I had to take food home as I ordered much more than I can eat. I would recommend one main course and sharing appetizer(s). Baby Arugula Salad, linguini with white sauce , ravioli's were all good. Highly recommended. This is a BYOB restaurant! ”

“ The food was outstanding. Tasty, large servings and heat hot, just the way we liked it. The family style antipasto was delicious with shrimp, clams, mussels, stuffed mushrooms, eggplant rolatini, and fried zucchini strings. The chicken giambotti was filled with sautéed chicken breast, sausage, potatoes and onions and peppers. Seafood capelline was overflowing with shrimp, lobster pieces, clams and mussels in a white wine garlic butter sauce. The Tartuffo was very good. Our server, Melissa was on the spot with everything. She even had her own stash of highball glasses should patrons bring their own liquor, since they don't have a bar. And we did bring our own. The ambiance is a bit outdated, can be quite noisy, but being we were 5, we had a quiet, out of the way table. It was a perfect night ”

“ First time dining here on recommendation of friends. Dined on Saturday night which typically sees crowds and this was no exception. However we were shown to our table promptly and although many tables were filled there was no signs of chaos and the noise level was maybe a "2" on a scale of 1-5 ( noisiest). Our lovely waitress stopped by shortly after we were seated and provided wine glasses for all we had brought ( BYOB). The list of specials was quite long and she didn't get frustrated with our numerous requests to repeat the descriptions. We and our two friends shared apps- shoe string zucchini fries & fried calamari with mango sauce- I'd give both an A+! Zucchini was crisp and tasty and the calamari was tender with a subtly sweet mango sauce. BTW- the rolls served at the table were delish & that's a tell-tale sign that the rest of the food should be great. The entrees of branzino , chicken parm, clams casino & roasted pear salad were judged by all to be top notch, shared desserts of ice cream cake and dark chocolate mousse cake also hit the spot, Finally, the cappuccino was prob close to the best ever- the foam was creamy & thick!! So glad we were introduced to LouCas ! Its a place we will return to and try anything off the menu! ”
